‘Kiddie porn’ pol’s ties to Hillside
July 25, 2008 | The HillsiderThe latest embarrassment to New Jersey comes in the form of Assemblyman Neil Cohen, D- Roselle, who is being investigated for having child pornography on his legislative office computer.
Cohen was turned in by his fellow Democratic legislators, Sen. Raymond Lesniak and Joseph Cryan.
While the trio’s district does not include Hillside, township politicians must still be feeling the shock considering they are all part of the county Democratic committee.
In fact, Cohen is no stranger to Hillside politics.
This year he gave $500 to the Dems’ Hillside school board candidates. (He must really like children.)
Cohen also has Hillside/Union Democratic Chairwoman Charlotte DeFilippo on his payroll — earning $10,000, the bare minimum to qualify for state pension and health benefits.
DeFilippo is also under investigation by the state’s Attorney General’s office for her role as an aide to Cohen.
Sources say that Cohen, not known for his sobriety, was placed under suicide watch at a psychiatric hospital yesterday.
But he’s not the only one with worries.

True about defillipo and cohen. I am not enjoying his situation but he has done nothing for the citizens of Union county and New Jersey. The only notable thing he did was pass a bill to save “Congo” the dog that attacked a labourer here in Jersey and then Congo striked again, this time attacking his owner’s mother unprovoked and the judge said enough is enough and had cohen’s beloved Congo put to sleep. Cohen is and was just part of the status quo.

read in star ledger that defillipo “never seen anything to indicate this sort of behavior”.Well you better start looking at your inner circle a little more closely….maybe at the pool……maybe at the board of elections.

It’s not just high school students anymore. A lot of older people, myself included are having to make the decision of trying to find work in our current field or go back to school and try something different. Cost is a big deal, especially since scholarships are few and far between for older people starting or trying to finish their degree program.
