Thank you for reading
September 25, 2009 | The HillsiderThe Hillsider has “been down” for quite a while now — and will remain so, indefinitely.
Maintaining a hyperlocal news site — often with a staff of one person — is not easy.
The site will remain up so readers can search through our archives.
Perhaps another township resident soon will wish to restart where we left off. Hillside needs it.
On a final note to our readers, we ask that you remain informed. Get your news from the Local Source, the Star-Ledger and the County Watchers. Demand that the media cover Hillside. Attend council and school board meetings. And take ownership of your township.

This is a shame as it was the most relevant discussion about our town out there. Hopefully someone will take it over

That’s really unfortunate, it was a gem to actually know what’s going on locally.

Hello: I left Hillside in 1961, but still have friends and relatives in the area. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading The Hillsider. Thank you, whoever you are…

Many thanks for your years of service to the residents of Hillside - especially those who do not read newspapers but have all the electrical inventions from the last 20 years.
I, too, am very sorry to see this website stop writing all about updates in the Township of Hillside. This was also a forum for the residents to voice their opinions - one way or another. Hopefully a citizen of the township will pick up the slack and go forward to continue this service! Thanks!

Good riddance to bad rubbish! This website has done irreparable harm to this towns reputation. Hope your happy Mr. Webmaster you hurt a lot of good people and their families.

Sad to see you go too; alot of the bashing on the forum was warranted, the police department in town corrupt, city council corrupt and ineffective, public works sucks. Hillside’s problems is that this town is run by former Hillsiders who don’t give a crap about this town or its people. Our taxes are high and we have no voice, this is why this forum was so popular. It had nothing to do with bashing, it had to do with venting about “quinlan and his boys”, the fire department that is basically hanging out on our dimes, lots of our dimes that is and a town hall where the city council and the city council workers don’t live here so they don’t care so they don’t see how this town has fallen apart.
